Eunice A. Rogers

Eunice A. Rogers, 87, went to join her husband and granddaughter in her Gods heaven on January 5, 2019 at her home in Paw Paw. She was born August 25, 1931 in rural Paw Paw to John G and Minnie (Kaufman) Hoelzer on the family farm. Living in Paw Paw her whole life she married Francis Eldred Rogers on May 11, 1952 spending the next 58 years together until his death in 2010.

She was a lifelong, devoted member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Compton. She worked as a receptionist at Mayrath Industries, a teller at the State Bank of Paw Paw and the treasurer for School District 271 in addition to being a devoted homemaker, mother, and grandmother, and great grandmother.

She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Paw Paw Garden Club, was a member of the Paw Paw Red Hat society, was actively involved in NICE, and Lutheran Home Auxiliary. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her three children, Christa Edwards of Paw Paw, Neal Rogers (Charlie) of rural Paw Paw, and Norm Rogers (Karen) of Somonauk; six grandchildren Curt Edwards, Brandon Boone (Laura), Brent Boone (Jill), Bryan Boone (Katie), Nathan Rogers (fiancé Rilee Burke), Aaron Rogers, one grandson in law Shawn Moulton, and seven great grandchildren; her brother Stanley Hoelzer, sisters Evelyn Rapp Carey (Bill), Bernice Dunn (Richard), and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, and her granddaughter Courtney Edwards.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday January 12 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church 398 Church Rd, Compton, IL, with burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Paw Paw. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Friday January 11, at the Church. Memorials are preferred to flowers and may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Paw Paw Garden Club, or to the N.I.C.E.     I.don’t know if same Eunice Rogers. I worked with LPN from University of Maryland. She taught me well. I love and think about her every year
