Paula Marie Grimm, age 75, of Earlville, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Chateau Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Willowbrook, IL on July 4, 2025.
Born on August 7, 1949, in Chicago, Paula was a woman of warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her life was a reflection of the joy she found in the simple things gathering with loved ones for the holidays, sharing laughter with her stamping clubs, and serving her church communities with grace and compassion. She married Walter Thomas Grimm Jr. on July 10, 1970.
Paula’s home was a place of welcome and love, where memories were made and traditions were treasured. She was the heart of her family, and her gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Walter Thomas Grimm, Jr., her loving children, Theresa Grimm and Michael Grimm; her siblings, John DiCostanzo, Barbara Vorbau, and Richard (Gina) DiCostanzo; and many extended family members and friends who held her dear.
Paula was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Paul and Alice DiCostanzo, and her cherished sister, Carol Merchant.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched with her generosity, her creativity, and her boundless love.
Visitation will be from 3-6 P.M. Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Paw Paw Bible Church, 410 N. 7th Street, Paw Paw, IL. To celebrate and honor Paula, the family kindly requests that anyone attending please dress in blue, her favorite color.
The funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, July 14, 2025, at the Paw Paw Bible Church with Pastor Jed Cary officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Comment *I knew Paula from church and she was always so sweet and kind to me. We would sit together and eat after service and joke about all the pounds we’d gain from eating so much. She had the kindest eyes. And I absolutely loved the handmade cards she would send me, just because. Such a beautiful lady, I’m so glad I got to know her. I’ll miss her. I will miss everything — our endless conversations that could go on for hours, our afternoons making cards, our little lunch dates, and the way we’d laugh until we cried. Those moments were pure joy, and I’ll hold them close forever.

Paula loved Jesus and loved people. She was a great friend to our family. Enjoyed her sense of humor. Paula was always a giving and caring person. Grateful to have had her in my life.
