WIlliam L. Ruppert

William (Will) Louis Ruppert, 81, of Paw Paw passed away November 14, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Will is survived by his wife; Patricia (Murphy) Ruppert along with his children Jay Ruppert of North Kansas City, MO; Ray (Rosemary) Ruppert of Roeland Parks, KS; Connie Schlesinger of Paw Paw, IL; Don (Marianne) Ruppert of Hopkins, MN; Ken Ruppert of Portland, OR; and Rhonda Ruppert of Mesquite, TX. Will was also survived by four grandchildren Diane, Scott, Chris and Philip; two great-grandchildren Connor and Ava; two brothers, Larry (Barbara) Ruppert of McDonough, GA and Ray F. (Barbara) Ruppert of Naperville, IL.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Ardella (Bodie) Ruppert and son-in-law Ron Schlesinger.

Will was the son of William J. and Josephine (Kuhnke) Ruppert, born on June 24, 1936 in Chicago, IL. He retired after 40 years as an electrician and a member of I.B.E.W. Local 701. Will served in the U.S. Army in the late ‘50s. He enjoyed working in his shop, fishing, boating and was a devoted fan of the Cubs and Bears. His love of trains began with his job as a lineman for the Milwaukee Road.

Cremation care has been provided with a grave side service and Celebration of Life to be held in June of 2018. In lieu of flowers contributions in Will’s memory may be directed to OSF Hospice or Immanuel Lutheran Church of Compton, IL.
