Shirley A. Jeanblanc

Shirley A. Jeanblanc, 91, of Mendota, formerly of Sublette, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at OSF St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota. Shirley was born September 12, 1924 in Paw Paw, the daughter of Jess and Gladys (Davidson) Aughenbaugh. She was united in marriage to Cletus Jeanblanc on June 26, 1946. Cletus preceded her in death on March 29, 2001.

She worked for Conkey’s in Mendota and the wire mill in Dixon. After marriage, Shirley and Cletus farmed all their lives in the Compton and West Brooklyn area until they retired. Shirley belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters in West Brooklyn, the Mendota Women of the Moose, and the Mendota Elks Club. Shirley was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Sublette.

Shirley is survived by one brother, Clifford (Verna) Aughenbaugh of Compton; a sister-in-law, Marian Jeanblanc; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley is preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Donald Aughenbaugh; a sister, Viola Greskiewicz; and a sister-in-law, Vivian Mullins.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 31, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2520 Johnson St., West Brooklyn. Mass of Catholic Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Father Randy Fronek officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in West Brooklyn.

    Cliff and Verna I was saddened to hear of your loss. Shirley and I were always friends through High school and I
    visited her couple times at the Home. Sorry we can’t be with you in person at this time but accept my hugs for you both.
