Raymond H. Thompson, 97, of Oglesby, finally had the “last word” Sept. 29, 2014, when he told his
oldest daughter to ” ‘Shut up!’ so he could rest.” He went home to the LORD peacefully a few hours later, with family by his side. The LAST WORD “Be QUIET!”

Born October 3, 1917, in Lee County, Ray and his late wife (Dorothy d.1992), had 7 children. Baby Dorothy died at birth, Nov., 1937.

He is missed by his six children: Julia (Fred) Grant, Dorothy Lee (Harold) Vice, Ray Jr. (Nancy) Thompson, Mary Lynn (Dave) Brown, JoEllen (Bret) Vice, and David Taylor Thompson; 17 grandchildren; a whole passel of great grandchildren, and several great-greats!

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10 A.M. at the First Christian Church, 109 Red Oak Rd. Walnut, IL.
