Lucille Ida (Baird) Rhea, 96, passed away at the Mendota Lutheran Home on July 25, 2016. She was born on August 25, 1919 in Earlville, Illinois, and was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville.

Lucille married Robert John Rhea on February 18, 1939. John and Lucille were engaged in farming in the Earlville, Yorkville, and Paw Paw areas. Lucille also served as a legal secretary for Anderson and Anderson Law Offices in Earlville and Litow Law Office in Paw Paw prior to her retirement.

Lucille is survived by her sons Robert of Paw Paw, Allan (Sandra) of Aurora, and her daughter Linda (Charles) Frank of Pontiac, Illinois. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband John, her sister Helen Ikens of Earlville, and her brother Howard Baird of Earlville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Earlville or Mendota Lutheran Home.

    My sincere sympathy goes out to your family. What a wonderful lady! I have such good memories of staying at your house when we were young. My mother’s middle name was Ida. This is the first time I heard someone else have this name.
