June Adell Schlesinger

June Adell Schlesinger, 82, of Paw Paw, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Prairie Crossing Living and Rehab Center in Shabbona. She was born November 2, 1935 in Norway Township, IA, the daughter of Ben and Irene (Witham) Sloter. She married Clifford W. Schlesinger on June 24, 1956 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Compton.

June Adell was a homemaker and farm wife. She worked at Del Monte during the summer packing season and ran the scale. She also worked as a manager at the Ogee Country Club in Paw Paw. She was active in several organizations, including 4-H, where she served as leader, Paw Paw Red Hat Society, and the Lee County Home Extension. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Compton.

June Adell is survived by her husband, Cliff, of Paw Paw; two children, Connie (Craig) Ganz of Mendota and David (Cindy) Schlesinger of Mendota; daughter-in-law, Connie Schlesinger of Paw Paw; six grandchildren, Michelle (Terrie) Bauer, Jason (Jaime) Ganz, Stephanie Ganz, Diane (Michael) Reppin, Scott (fiancée Katie Wehrli) Schlesinger, and Jayde Schlesinger; five great-grandchildren, Allison and Alexis Bauer, Emerson and Oliver Ganz, and Connor Reppin; brother, Rockwell (Mary Ann) Sloter of Mendota; and sister, Annabelle Myers of Alberta, Canada.

In addition to her parents, June Adell is preceded in death by her son, Ron Schlesinger.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Friday, September 14, 2018, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 398 Church Road, in Compton.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeff Schlesinger officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
