JoAnn F. Thorson, 82, of Paw Paw, passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at OSF St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota. She was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Genoa, IL, the daughter of Roy and Helga (Johnson) Bennett. She was united in marriage to Franklin R. Thorson July 30, 1949, in Genoa, IL. JoAnn was an avid reader and loved putting together puzzles. She was a great help to her family, especially with her grandchildren.
JoAnn is survived by three sons, Richard, Gregg, and Brett Thorson, all of Paw Paw; three daughters, Dawn (Jim) Mathesius of Earlville, Connie Saenger of Midland, TX, and Tammy Hoadley of Paw Paw; two brothers, Stanley Bennett of Genoa and Gary Bennett of Kansas; two sisters, Darlene Thorson of DeKalb, and Sandy Dale of Arkansas; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank in 2007; four brothers, Kermit, Kenneth, Milton, and Carrol Bennett; and three sisters, Geraldine Franklin, Evelyn Archambault, and Sharon Cantrell.
Cremation rites were accorded. A private family graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at Wyoming Township Cemetery in Paw Paw, with the Rev. Ken Foster officiating.
