Darlene Eich

Darlene Eich, 90, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at her residence in Paw Paw, Illinois.

Mrs. Eich was born on August 4th, 1926 in Robinson Kansas to Peter and Nellie Molinare. Darlene was an avid animal lover and especially loved raising Toy Fox Terriers. Darlene started her culinary career by operating the cafeteria at Del Monte in Mendota, IL. To fulfill her lifelong dream of owning a restaurant Darlene owned and operated the Pink Dip Drive In for eleven years in Earlville, IL. During the winters Darlene loved to watch the Chicago Bulls, play Euchre and quilt blankets. Darlene was a member of the Mendota Moose Lodge and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Compton.

Mrs. Eich is survived by: five daughters; Marilyn Eich of Elkhart, IN, Patricia (Gene) McKay of York, PA, Sharon Whatley of Matthews, NC; Shirley (Rodger) Coble of Matthews, NC; Peggy Sonneson of Kewaunee, WI; Four Sons: Robert Eich Jr. of Lee, IL; James (Jann) Eich of Paw Paw, IL; John (Jerrie) Eich of Dixon, Il; and Tom (Candy) Eich Elmhurst, IL; twenty two grandchildren, and twenty one great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Eich Sr; one son David, and one brother Willard.

Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm, on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Compton, Illinois. Funeral Services will be at 11 am on Wednesday January 4, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 398 Church Road in Compton with the Reverend Jeff Schlesinger officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Capital Improvement Building Fund.
